Actually most of these cases were planned from the very beginning to have two versions (or more) to suit different end-user preferences. This is most apparent in our Sugo series cases as each chassis layout has two versions:
SG01 / SG02
SG03 / SG04
SG05 / SG06
SG07 / SG08
SG09 / SG10
We've been doing this since 2005!
No disrespect intended, but I find that a little hard difficult to believe, certainly in regards to the Sugo series.
Raven 2 and Fortress 2 I can understand planning 2 different externals to cover different markets, but I don't understand "intending" to do different versions of the same Sugos - the SFF market needs more choice, but is different aesthetics of the same case really the way to go?.
OK, SG05 flat plastic facia vs SG06 aluminium pot belly (which is arguably the start of weird Silverstone aesthetics), but can you really say the SG08 was planned? The styling of the SG07 was universally panned from what I've read and, lo, the SG08 came out - exactly the same concept of an aluminium facia, just more tastefully done.
And personally the time gap between the SG09 and SG10 just makes the SG09 redundant, because I cannot see anybody choosing the awful ridge styling of the 09 when they have the sleek 10 available too.
Still, these are just the ramblings of a big fan frustrated by, IMO, a sudden downturn in aesthetic design and quality - please don't turn into another Antec!
(I'm still going to attempt my own Raven ITX though - have a bit of a custom case/RV01 homage planned
