Hi, I was just wondering whether the design of the Ravens is only good for graphics card with a reference cooler like the fully envelop shrouds which exhaust the hot air through the back of the card like shown.

OR is it just a good with any other coolers?

It's fine for gigabyte windforce for me (raven rv03) contrary to some guy that couldn't get the same overclock on his cards and commented something to do with the heatpipe being designed to be horizontal but I have the same cooled card gigabyte 6970 windforce and mines fine very cool.

i'm just torn between cases to accommodate and cool one of these

i was wondering since the card isn't covered by the shroud fully and some of the heat is dumped back into the case , that picking a raven case might be a bit pointless

My lightnings were hotter on air when overvolted in the rv02 compared to my old 600t

(cooler at stock)

The way the air is thrown makes no difference, the heatpipes below the core when hanging vertically may not distribute the heat load optimally.
