I have just put together a build using a Silverstone SG05-450W case/PSU and I have just noticed a squealing sound from the system as soon as it boots into windows. On a warm reboot the noise will stop as soon as the computer leaves Windows 7 and then resumes as soon as I get to the welcome screen. The PSU is a V2.0 which I am told is supposed to fix such issues?

What would be the best way to test before I RMA the PSU?

Full spec:

Silverstone SG05-450W
Intel 3750k
Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe
Samsung Green 8GB DDR3
Crucial M4 256GB SSD
WD Red 2TB HD

sounds like coil ripple to me, or the ball bearings on the fan aren't great... if it keeps happening, RMA the psu and ask for a replacement

Click link for sound. I separated the PSU from the motherboard with a thick bit of card and the noise is coming from the extra power daughterboard on the motherboard itself so I'm going to have to RMA it :( I tried different fans so it definitely wasn't that. It's also an intermittent sound, almost like morse code, rather than a constant bearing noise anyway.
