I wasn't originally going to post this so no progress pics, I just enjoyed the process so much I had to share my first build in over a decade.
Case - Silverstone SUGO 14
PSU - be quiet! Pure Power 11 700W 80 Plus Gold
Mobo - ASUS ROG STRIX B560-I GAMING WIFI
Cpu - i5-11400
Cpu Cooler- be quiet! Pure Rock Slim 2 CPU Cooler - 92mm
Ram - Team Group Vulcan Z T-Force 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHz Dual Channel Kit - Grey
Boot drive - 500GB Gigabyte AORUS SSD, M.2 (2280) PCIe 4.0
Case fans - 2x Noctua NF-A12x15 PWM 120mm 1850RPM Fan
2x be quiet! Silent Wings 3 140mm PWM Fan
And 2 old 500gb sata hdds from dead laptops.
Parts
Front, fascia removed
Right, fans on.
Right, fans off
Top, fan off
Left, no gpu yet
Bottom, most of the spare cabling tucked under the psu.
Build notes.
For a fairly small mini itx case, it's pretty easy to work in with all 4 panels and both fan brackets off.
Cable management options aren't bad considering the size and lack of panels to hide them behind.
Tips
Get a modular PSU, just look at all the spare cables crammed in there on that last pic. Flat, ribbon style cables could be a good idea for some of them too.
Be careful with cpu cooler and fan sizes to prevent clashes, if in doubt, buy bits one at a time and measure, measure, measure. Motherboard geometry can also be a factor here, as some have the cpu socket closer to the edge than others.
Some motherboard headers can be tricky to get to if you don't plan ahead and attach them in the right order, so make sure you do plan ahead.
Try a dry run before screwing down the motherboard.
That all said, it posted and booted first time.
A little tinkering with drivers and Fan curves was needed, but all in all it went pretty smoothly, I think I might be hooked.
Update, it now has a temporary graphics card, a cheap(ish) 1050ti.
So at least I can play some games on it.
