Just looking at SFF cases and trying to gauge the best one on the market below £150, it needs to have X2 DVD drives and be black that’s the only priority. Is the Silverstone Sugo SG01 the current best case on the market?

Any other recommendations?

Thanks :)

Well I think the SG03 is better but it's only got room for one optical drive, so one would need to be external.

The Lian-Li V300 or V350 might be worth looking at - better airflow than the SG01 due to the 120mm fans vs the 80mm ones on the Sugo.

The Antec Mini P180 admittedly I don't know a lot about, but the cooling seems the best due to it's plethora of fans, although I know it's quite large for a microATX case, almost as big as it's P180 big brother!

I’ve looked at the SG03 but to me looks massive for a mATX the same for the P180 :p Do you know of any sites with pictures etc comparing the sizes as ideally I want it to be as compact as possible I have a full ATX PC which is my main PC and like the idea of a small cube shaped SFF that can fit on my desk and look the business :D I have most of the parts purchased such as a Gigabyte GA-G33M & Q9300 ect its just the case now.

Thanks for the info btw :)

if i was looking for a new sff case again it would be between the

Oh brilliant thanks for the pictures :D Like you I’m not too keen on the SG03 the SG01 looks the business, I can see the SG03 being a better case for air flow and temperature etc. What kind of decent heatsinks can you fit into the SG01?

yea i like my sg01 a lot,

hmm thats the bad side to most sff cases there
aint much room for cooling. becuz the psu sits on top where the HFS is

most of the HSF you can use need to be about 85mm (8.5cm) in height

here is a list that should fit but some might not. as some might need modding
or cant fit becuz mother board parts might be in the way ( ie ram pci slots + more)

Zalman CNPS7500
Zalman CNPS750
Zalman CNPS8000
Zalman CNPS8700 LED
Zalman CNPS8700-NT

Thermaltake Blue Orb II
Thermaltake Golden Orb II

CoolerMaster Gemin II ( psu blow fan cooled )
Silverstone SST-NT06 Lite ( psu blow fan cooled )

all stock HSF's. fill be it AMD or Intel

here is some pics of my sff setup

I think the SG03 is pretty much the same volume as the SG01 - just tipped on it's side. ;)

Cooler wise i'd get the Silverstone NT06 personally, that's the best one.

Thanks for the info :) Much appreciated, have you any shots of the inside with all the components to together? Just to gain an ideal as to the snugness with all the bits installed etc..

Yes for sure the sg03's look grows on you, I think mine is great :) plus for me the advantage was it has exactly the same foot print as the shuttle it was replacing but twice as tall.

Having said that I'm on the lookout for an sg01 for my diskless vmware esx server build.

i do like the one with 2 7800gtx's in it :D buy sod all this faffing around and go get a mini-itx case :D
loving my new hoojum cubit3. Its as wide as my PC7+ with the mobo on the bottom and is about 1/3 the length and only about 1/5 the height :)

So small and yet does all the jobs it needs to. Will probably put a new GFX card in it next week and try bench it.
