What rad's can I potentially fit in my SilverStone TJ07 if I mod it?

is this a good water cooling build for a high end SILENT build?

you can fit a 480 and a 240 and a psu in the bottom

if you dont care for optical drives like me you can fit a 240 in the front

some people put triple rads in the roof but that requires modding and i dnt think it looks very good anyway.

I cool a I7 at 4.2Ghz and a 5970 on a single Thermochill PA120.3 in the bottom, But my rad is very thick so no room for any more rads down there... (psu takes up spare room)

What you can do... and is what i plan on doing is adding a Black ice GT stealth to the top with fans.

Thanks (sorry for all the questions)

Is that enough for a 980x and 480's SLI?

and how well is the rad cooling performance as I heard they have to be really thin?

Can it also be silent?

well mine currently has the 480 rad at the bottom and the 240 in the front
[see my build log link in sig for more details]

it easily cools my system which has a Xeon X5680, UD7 and GTX 480 all in the same loop.

i plan on adding another 480 soon. the loop will cope with it perfectly well.

you could probably do the cpu and 480sli on a 480 radiator in fairness.

What rads do you have mate?

I heard you can only have a slim radiator which means bad cooling performance?

How silent & cool is your build?

my rads are thermochill pa series.
they are about as fat as radiators get.

you could use a black ice stealth as the thinner rad if you wanted. in the lower compartment.

the best setup performance wise is the 480 in the bottom and the 240 in the front like i have

my computer is silent and the cpu rarely goes above 45'c when gaming. [at 4.4GHz]
my gpu hovers at 55'C under load at 850mhz

in fairness i do turn off the fans on the front when i havent got my headset on, means the computer is even quieter

Thanks mate sorry about all the questions..

What are the best (coolest + silent) possible radiator(s) I could get in the bottom and the front of this case as I need it for a build i'm making for xmas?

(Money isn't an issue and yeah i'm going to be buying my components here)

i have a usb dvd drive.

because i use an optical drive exactly... never.

and i have an ssd for OS and an ssd for games.

my mechanical storage is in a QNAP next to my router.
away from my system.

no noise = happy days

Thanks mate sorry about all the questions..

rads are rads after a certain point.
i quite like thermochills but the black ice sr1 rads are amazing.

you should consider what FPI you want.
higher density needs more airflow to push the air through them and lower density needs lower speed fans but cfm and static pressure are also important.

i think some SR1 rads with some good radiator fans would serve you well.
perhaps some gentle typhoons or something.
its better to get a gague of opinion on the OC&Cooling section.
in fairness, i just go for whatever i think looks best
and definately invest in a good fan controller.
i have a lamptron FC2 and it works well in my system.
the ability to turn my fans off and on as required is very useful.
it depends what suits your needs.
take a look through my build log as i have done several rebuilds and reconfigurations.
it has taken me a while to find the optimal layout for my TJ07 but i am really happy with my current setup and it is serving me very well indeed.

also, it may be wise to take a look in our project logs section as a few notable members have used TJ07 cases for big projects.

one that springs to mind is mrdbristol's excellent 'Project Dark Water'
a very inspiring build with some exceptional ideas.
also it may be wise to look at some builds on Xtreme systems, bit tech, Million Dollar PC, and Murdermod to get some inspiration.

i tried to do my own thing with my TJ07 and i dont think i have seen a similar one. but it is a great case to work with, even if you dont intend on doing much modding.

Thanks for that brilliant explanation, I will look into all those which you mentioned.

Does the mobo tray need to get modded?
