Hi,

Just quick question to anyone owning a TJ08.

I'm getting toward then end of my build in this case and I've just noticed that the intake fan only spins up when the fan speed switch is set to high. If set to low at system boot, the fan spins up briefly, and then stops. When switched to low, from high, the fan just spins down to a halt, but then kicks back in when switched back to high.

The fan is connected to the primary sys fan header on my Gigabyte Z87M-D3H and at present the case is fully open.

Is the fan not functioning correctly, and it's just a temperature that is causing the fan not to spin up when set to low? Or have I got a mobo setting wrong? I could try a different fan header, but things are getting a bit tight inside to go moving things around.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

MrJubbly

I have the same case (and very similar motherboard actually) and don't get that issue.

I will check for you but i think mine is not connected to the motherboard, it may just be straight to the PSU, give that a try.

Thanks guys,

Seems consensus is, don't connect to mobo.

Next numpty question is what do I need to be able to connect the fan to the PSU? My PSU is a Seasonic G Series and modular, but I don't appear to have a cable that will do the job.

So what exactly should I be looking for?

I've just been rummaging through my spares box and found a two pin male molex (one black wire and one red wire) to a 3 pin male fan plug (1 black wire in, 1 red wire in, 1 black wire out ( on same pin as black in) and 1 yellow wire out (on 3rd pin).Black and yellow wires then go off to a 3 pin (middle pin not configured) female fan plug.

Would this do the trick?

Thanks,

MrJubbly

Well the answer is, is it does work. Fan now works at both speeds. It turns out too, that before, fan was only operating at low speed as well.

Thanks for your help everyone.

My front fan on two of these cases with three different motherboard's have all been motherboard fan connection. Sometimes it has taken a change in the bios fan setting's. Never had to use a molex connected to the psu.
