Im seriously thinking of getting this case as I think it's a work of art and probably one of the best cases out there. I was wondering if anyone has one on these cases with a watercooling setup inside? I would really like to know how easy it is to fit a 120.2 rad using the 2 120mm fans on the top of the case. I see that the spacing of the top fans might not fit a rad straight out of the box but should not be to hard to modify.

If anyone has this case (especially with watercooling) I would love to hear what you think about it.

:)

I'm still deciding between this and the akasa eclipse.
Is it worth the extra poundage over the eclipse "which is apparently the best case out there"and are there
any issues with this case regarding power supply fittage etc
also ive heard that the side panels resonate on the tj09 which is a very bad thing
so far thats whats put me off an otherwise great case.
it's really hard to pick a case almost every single case has a yea but problem my
only concern of the eclipse is that it's not tall enough.
Theres a quick snippet video review of it here
I think the only cases without "issues" are the top end lian li.

Also another blinding review here here

How long has this case been out on the market?

I was seriously about to buy this case but those in the know
have said the side panels resonate that's a big no no for me was
dead set ready to buy lucky i read about the sides.
I think it's been out a few months i agree it's an absolute stunner
just wish there wasn't the side panels issue.
For me the only reviews worthy of note are user reviews that have lived with a case properly.

How come none of the reviews moan about the side panel?

Come on TJ09 owners speak up!

Because most reviewers only use the case for an hour or two at most and never get chance to see any issues with a case.

Most would not know a good case if it came and smacked them across the face, they are way to quick to give out 10/10 and 9/10 ratings. How can you distinguish between the Zen and say a Eclipse, both are 10/10 cases but its not the same as a graphics card, they are only 10/10 depending on the use. The Eclipse is wasted on anything below a Thunderbird setup but the Zen is not.

Case reviews are useless unless they are from someone who has owned that case for at least a week and also used comparable cases for a good length of time. You can not benchmark them.

I just laugh at some of the reviews they read, THG are the best with the v1000+ with PSU issues, spawning lots of people disregarding the case when all they did was just copy the v1000 review. They were completely blind as there were screws fitted so the PSU bay could be made to fit a Galaxy if needs be, yet in 2005 they were blind enough not to check the instruction sheet.

I hate reviews, the best way to get a feel of a case is to have a look at it yourself, failing that speak to actual owners.

An owner will view the case in the same way as you, something they wish to own and use, the reviewer is likely to just send the case back the next day. You have to like your case or all the performance in the world is lost.

As with most Silverstone cases you are much better off waiting for the revision model or refresh as these are usually what the initial outing for the design promised to be.

Most are probably at work m8 i'm sure will get
opinions a bit later i think i read about the side panels
on this forum.if it has got side panel issues maybe the windowed
panel would not anyway i'd defo hold on buying until
we can establish the problems.

i would get it and lian lis also have this problem on the v series so silverstone are not alone
most people add blutack on the edges so its a dampings it

I've got this case and think its worth the money.

only bad point is that 2 of the feet came off when moving it as the screws that hold them on are very shallow so I just replaced the screws with ones I had a round.

not noticed any side panels resonating but I have got the windowed version and it sat on carpet so maybe that thats the difference.

theres another old thread on the forum about the case where Clone was watercooling his but though he was palcing the rad outside the case.
Since then hes ordered a UFO case, so I guess he gave up watercooling the TJ09.

overall I'm very happy with the case and it makes me :) just looking at it so for me that worth the Money.

Well it's definately the windowed version I would go for as I like to see the guts of my pc in all it's glory :D

Hopefully more TJ09 owners log on later. . .

Tiz a very good case, just sold mine on fleabay, cooling in the case is one of the best ive had,you can mount a 120.2 rad at the top but it need`s to be the bix stealth as it`s not as thick as most rads,or do what i was going to do and fit a 120.2 rad on the rear 120mm fan with a swiftech radbox.

Any more questions m8 just ask, i have a few photos or mine if you need to see them. :)

Well I was gonna go for the Black Ice Stealth GT240 as it's nice and thin, what about the fan alignment at the top, do you think you could bolt the rad to the top fans ok still then?
As for the pics I would love to see em.

I would think you would need to cut the bar out between the two fans, you could get two 120.1 rads and link them, custompcs did a review with that done.

Here is my 120.2 rad fitted to swiftech rad box on the back of the case, dont forget the case has 2 predrilled holes to put hose from the outside of the case.

where does the watercooling go to??
I was only trying the radbox out as i was going to watercool that case but then i bought a U2-UFO MM instead.

TBH i couldnt bring myself to cut the silverstone up as it was to well built, fitting a rad at the back should give better temps as well.

If I hadn't had to RMA my Abit 680i motherboard I would have been happy to post my experience with the TJ-09 :(
Very attractive, well built case though, probably going to fit some Dynamat to the side panels to remove the risk of any resonation.

Im really intrigued into how the 2 top fans actually mount the fans, as looking from the pic below it looks like the fans themselves are on moveable rails thus to get get a proper alignment with a rad. Is my assumption right?
