Just ordered myself a Sugo SG02 to stick my matx x58 and I7 in just wondering what cooler people would recommend? think it has to be under 82mm tall

best bet assuming you have a psu with 120mm fan would be the nt06evolution as this is designed for the case

yeah i spotted that on silverstones website after id posted, got one coming, my psu has a 14cm fan so hopefully it will be ok, tbh i maybe downgrading from the i7 anyway so should be ok really

Got the NT06 in and its ok, its not doing a fantastic cooling job but is idling around mid 40's only prob is as its using the psu fan to cool it its putting strain on that and now the psu is getting a tad warm and is spinning up a bit, tbh im thinking of ditching my i7 setup and downgrading to a phenom 2 or c2d setup again dont really need an i7 for my needs

Was never impressed with the NT06 in my SG01 with overclocked Q6600 maxing out at 78 degrees. The heat coming out of the psu was more than I thought suitable and ended up going back to my PC7.

Just changed this system to a i5 setup and it seems to be coping reasonably well i think, havent strained it too much but its idleing a stock at about 38C would this be about right? Im trying my best to find a thin 120mm fan but as yet havent found one, cant see any on ocuk?

Just ran 3dmark06 a few times and have monitored temps, the cpu seems to have peaked at about 50C max on the cores does this seem ok for a i5?

That's absolutely fine. Good temps.

Don't forget - the X58 Core i7s have a TDP of 130W. The P55 Core i7s/i5s have a TDP of 95W. There will be a difference in temperatures when going from one to another. :)

Yeah that was my main reason for changing to i5 tbh, with the i7 the psu did get a little noisy
