Sim card / PAC number identification

I always change providers but keep the same phone number via PAC but my phone's always recognise the original pre PAC transfer number in the phones settings.

Just wondering if theres a way to properly overwrite the original number on the SIM card with your actual phone number?

I use an old iPhone 4 to change the SIM number in mine. More recent iPhones have this option too so if you know someone with an iPhone it's easy to do.
