Hi folks,

I'm sure most of you fine folks already know about this, but next time you're moving home and face the inevitable PITA that is moving your broadband and phone over to the new property, instead of simply closing your accounts and starting again at the new property, when you call BT ask them for a SIM Provide Code. Give this code to your ISP and they *should* be able to automatically activate your BB on the same day your BT line gets activated. You might need to ask to speak to someone higher up at BT as some of them still don't know about this. Most do appear to nowadays though, which is great.

Of course this only applies to BT-based broadband and not all ISPs will offer this, but if you are lucky enough to be able to do this it can save days or even weeks of waiting for your accounts to be activated. I've done it twice in a row now (with BT and BEThere) and it's usually been only around 5 days from initially starting things off with BT/BE to final activation, with almost no downtime inbetween (which is the main bonus).

As I said I'm sure most of you know this already but thought I'd post about it anyway in case someone doesn't :)

Cheers,
