Not sure if this is the best of the gaming forums for this, but as it's likely to use a PC for the task, thought I'd ask here.

I'm looking for a SIM setup to closely cover GT and F1 style games. I've seen the F GTPro rig which looks good, but it's everything else that I'm unsure about. It doesn't seem like there's anywhere that lets you configure a complete rig. It's either the rig, or companies like fanatec for hardware, but no rig.

Throw in the complexity that I wouldn't overly mind it being modular between car and flight, and I seem to be opening a can of worms.

Doesn't need to be full or even part motion, just a good experience that could be supported by VR or a really good monitor setup.

It seems that most fanatec wheels are drive units are cross compatible with pc, Xbox and PS anyway, for the occasional time that I might have cravings for GranTourismo.

Advice and recommendations greatly appreciated.

Budget is really not a problem either.

I'm a mentalist with too much money rig (endgame gear)

Rig: Simlab PX-1 - https://pure-sims.com/product/sim-l...QswSVwLyhTZeY8SgJQO3P8YbMHv-e60rd3LqSBqFQZVKw
Wheel Base: Simucube 2 Pro - https://simucube.com/en-gb/simucube-2-pro (you could get the ultimate for another £1000, but it's completely OP and not needed imo)
Rim: Bavarian Simtec Alpha or GSI Hyper P1 - https://www.bavariansimtec.com/products/alpha / https://gomezsimindustries.com/en-gb/products/hyper-p1
Pedals: Simucube Active Pedals Pro or Moza Mbooster Pedals - https://simucube.com/en-gb/simucube-activepedal-pro/ / https://abruzzi-official.co.uk/shop/moza-pedals/moza-mbooster-active-pedal/ (Look up the benefits of 'Active Pedals'. They are the newest tech in sim racing, bit of a luxury but love mine nonetheless)

You'll need a Simucube QR for the rims as well.

Mid-tier rig:

Rig: Simlab GT1 Pro - https://sim-lab.eu/en-gb/products/g...vCzR1bXA4fVI8bX-sts7_BU3sF0AQBrYn85yD2k_nQ3as
Wheel Base: Simagic Alpha Mini - https://www.raceanywhere.co.uk/prod...Z5DIYaP0qNdllsg7fxfkMt_Gr6fpadW1DTEzwoWsNd2cm
Rim: Simagic Neo - https://abruzzi-official.co.uk/shop/simagic-wheels/simagic-gt-neo-wheel/
Pedals: - VRS pedals https://vrs.racing/hardware/pro-ped...DaLSwRKzJwR9lefdrZWpCeUvqAnd9qDtLCBOuKfvJ6wJD

Low-budget console-friendly rig (supports xbox and ps5 as well as PC)

Rig: Simlab GT1 Evo - https://sim-lab.eu/en-gb/products/g...puH14OSqcU8vwqlg37KZG8otNlbFibBm4E6x91HJFyMIw
Wheelbase: Fanatec GT DD Pro - https://www.fanatec.com/eu/en/p/wheel-bases/crd-9020006-eu/gran-turismo-dd-pro-wheel-base-qr2-eu
Rim: Fanatec Formula v2.5 - https://www.fanatec.com/us/en/p/ste...qr2/clubsport-steering-wheel-formula-v2-5-qr2 (or whatever Fanatec rim you want)
Pedals: Fanatec clubsport v3s or CSL Elite v2s - https://www.fanatec.com/eu/en/p/pedals/csp_v3/clubsport-pedals-v3 / https://www.fanatec.com/eu/en/p/pedals/csl_ep_v2/csl-elite-pedals-v2

Or you get the same rig and instead of Fanatec you get a Moza wheelbase/rim/pedal combo, or the new Logitech base/pedals that have just come out

If you want console compatibility, you're options are going to be massively limited to brands like Fanatec, Logitech and Moza. Personally, I wouldn't consider console compatibility if i was getting a proper rig, there isn't a single console exclusive with good FFB or physics that will make the most of your gear.

Regardless of what rig you get you will need to look at picking up a seat and brackets for it, which is a very personal choice depending on your body type etc. Check reviews.

Your chances of getting everything from one place are slim to none unless you go down the Fanatec route and buy their rig which is not a good choice imo

Check out UK sim racing suppliers such as Simdemon, Raceanywhere, Puresims and Abruzzi, they sell a lot of sim racing gear domestically, albeit some things cost a little more than if you ordered them from mainland Europe. OCUK even has some stuff, such as the Moza Mbooster pedals. There is so much good gear out there nowadays from all kinds of manufacturers, you could replace anything in the lists i put above with numerous other options and have the rig still be amazeballs.

Finally, motion rigs are not worth it at all imo and having a rig that switches between racing and flight simming is indeed a ballache, especially as most of the rigs that claim to do it are too weak for mid-high end sim racing gear.
