I need some help...

I've set-up one area for residential + commercial and another area for dirty industry and power. However my residential area complains about lack of industry and vice versa. I've connected the two areas with a road and I'm even sharing power between the two areas but they won't move over! Driving me bloody mad and I remember why I stopped playing this This isn't rocket science, what the hell am I doing wrong?

I think you are having transportation problems
how far away are these zones
it must be connected with a fast lane e.g. avenue...sims are lazy and don't travel for v. long.

I don't know what language it supports (I would guess all of them unless they got really lazy) but it is possible to set the language manually through the registry. See here.

BTW
in order to have 'fun' on this game (IMO) you need the NETWORK ADDON MOD ("NAM") which revolutionizes the transport system e.g. better pathfinding, more realistic commute times and additional roads/intersections for highways and roads (think it even comes w/roundabout). It really helps solve the frustration late in the game when you eventually get skyscrapers and MASSIF-MEGA traffic/transport problems.
