Anyone going to get this game when it comes out in 8 days ?

I'm thinking about it, but hoping that a demo comes out before hand so I can give it a go. I think the new changes will make the game a lot more accessible to other people, but on the other hand it sound likes the game will be easier to predict what will happen. Hopefully this won't make it boring and there will still be a bit of a random factor to the game.

i quite enjoy the sim city games, but i doubt i will have enough time to buy it, with all the other games coming out at the moment. but i will prolly buy it later to play over christmas.

That is a slight problem that there are other games coming out at the same time, which would normally take away the time to play this game.

But seeing as I won't have a good PC at the time, only my Mac laptop, this looks like a good game for me to pick up.

like the op i'd like a demo first. i was really looking forward to the next version of ceasar 3 but it was rubbish, and railroads which was also rubbish. i hope this one isn't!

didnt know about this, there goes six months of life again..

That depends really. The game doesn't seem to be as anal as it was before with the money management. Instead your managing peoples happiness.

Its does seem thought that you'll end up playing a few times through to see what buildings you want and then planing your whole city around getting the requirements for it.

Yeah it could go either way really. Sounds nice the concept of making the different style of cities.

it does look good, but i dont like the fact that the scale isnt as big as the old games, its appparently much more zoomed in, and you cant make the huge cities you could in SC4 with hundreads of thousands of people living there.

Already preordered it and can't wait. I'm new to the series having not played the previous so my expectations haven't been set. Only other city building games I've played are things like Caesar which I love.

I don't think it's a bad game, just different from expectations of the hardcore SimCity fans. I loved Caesar IV from Tilted Mill, the developers of SimCity Societies and see no reason why this game shouldn't be as good or better.
