Simple and free 3D modelling app

I need to mock up a very basic example of a loft conversion I'm considering so looking for a simple and ideally free 3D package.

Years back I used to be pretty good with the likes of 3DS Max so i'm fine with modelling etc but I've just tried Google sketch up and I'm not liking it one bit, any other suggestions for the Mac?

You could try wings3d or blender. Wings3d is farly straight forward.. blender is more complicated but also more powerful.. Both free.

It's not free but Nevercenter Silo is really good.

is lightwave not the industry standard at the moment? its not free but theres a demo that may do what you want..

I gave sketch up another bash and once I got my head round its modelling concept it did the job really quickly. Quite a nifty little app.
