Simple but fun image display

Hi all

My gallery is ridiculously bloated, and I want to show just my favourites on another page, simple and easy to look at, while looking nice. What I was thinking was just a page of thumbnails, that when you click on one you get a popup image (within the page though, so there arent a hundred browser windows or things). I've seen that kind of thing done before, but don't know how to do it, any ideas where I should start?

Lightbox 2 looks excellent! I presume the page where you have the clickable images are css calls? Will have to have a play with this, thank you!

Highslide looks fun, good tip. I've gone with lightbox for now, http://www.tiltedsky.net

Now I just need to get some better/recent pics on there!
