Hi guys how are you?

I just bought a new CPU and a new Motherboard in a store and the store mounted it for me with my other pieces

But now i have a question, take a look at the picture:

The guy of course used the 24 pin connector and as you can see this MB has an 8 pin and one more 4 pin connector

Ho here is the question, he only used the 8 pin connector(red arrow), the 4 pin one is not plugged (blue arrow) with the PSU cable is it correct or should i plug both? If the answer is only the 8 pin why the MB have both?

I`m using here a 4770k @4.5 with a H110 2 GTX 780 in SLI and the PSU is a Coolermaster SilentPro Gold 1200W

Thanks

Thanks guys

I was looking here at my MB box and it says that i has one 20 pin + 4 pin and two 4+4 pin, so i just need to connect any half of this other 4+4 pin right? Any 4 half pin or should be the left side ir right side of the cable?

Thanks guys just connected here

Whre can i let the other half of the pin? Is there a problem if i let in the top of the case, i mean is there a problem if the pin touch the case? Should i use some isolated tape in the other half?

Thanks

My psu is new and good one, no need to replace and no money to do it now :) So i don`t need to worry about letting the other half of the 8 pin touching the case? Here`s a picute how it is

As you can see it`s plugged correctly right?

As you can see in the top left is the another half of the cable, no problem right?

Thanks

Ill go of the pic in your original post mate, all you need plugged in is the 8 pin block that youve signalled in this pic above with the red arrow. The extra 4 pins are only there incase you wish to run massive overclocks. Looks like a nice mobo too btw. My asus has theese extra connectors as well but ill never need them.

Ok but now that is already plugged let plugged or take off? And if let plugged the other half is ok where it is?

Thanks

I reckon it should be fine left as it is. If you do decide to remove it, just tuck it away out of sight.

Thanks

But now your opinion, it`s already plugged, do you recommend take off? Really i don`t know what to do, i just plugeed because i already have 2 mobos fried because of the SLi and had to use the EVGA POwer Boost, but this modo has an auxiliar sata connector for it, i thought that this extra pin should help the energy and not to happen to loose another board with the 12v 24pin burned again
