Simple Excel Autosum question

Hi guys. Apologies for what could be a right noobish question but I couldn't find any answers in Excel or Google.

Autosum adds up 2 boxes or more and puts the answer in the assigned box.

Rather than add, can you subtract?

Subtract one field from another:
=A1-A2

Subtract a series of fields from the initial field:
=A1-(SUM(A2:A99))
