Heys guys, I am in search of a very simple program that will allow me to place many photographs into a filmstrip with very simple transition effects and be able to create a standardised video file out of them that can be burnt on to a dvd and played on a dvd player. background music is not required.

Also free would be wonderful

You have found the right guy to speak to. Not too long back I had the same problem. Adobe Premier Elements 4.

Problem with most others is that it's either a dedicated sideshow creator (no video etc) or if it is a video editor you cannot select a bunch of pictures and set their timeout and transition, you had to do them individually.

I like it for its diversity. Video, images, music. All no problem to string together in this software.
