Simple graphics fan cooling question.

Noob question incoming...

I've just bought a noctua fan to attach to my accelero passive VGA cooler, and was wondering if it was best to have the fan directed at or away from the chips?
I'm guessing blowing away would cause it to heat up further.

I'm being a bit daft aren't i, it's late and i want some reassurance!

Having the fan blowing on it is correct im guessing, someone hit me with a stick...

Usually unless you have a bottom vent or some weird airflow setup.
