Hi,

Simple question which im sure a lot of people know except me.

On the OCUK Overclocked bundles which include Cpu, Ram and Mobo.

I always thought its a deal on 3 items together but i realise the system is built for you.

Is it :

A: The CPU is OC'd then put back in the manufacterer box and we build it based on our own Case

B: They build the system with a case and add the components and do the overclock? If so, what case do they use?

Thanks,

What bundle you looking at, or is it just a generic question?

I think you get a motherboard with the CPU installed and the overclocked settings already stored in the motherboard BIOS.

Not sure if they fit the RAM or if you need to do that yourself.

It's up to you to provide the rest of the components (case, PSU, CPU cooler, SSD, HDD etc.) and put it all together.

When i bought my Core i3 bundle many moons ago the CPU and RAM were already installed in the motherboard you just have to fit the cpu cooler, they do include all the boxes and packaging for the cpu and ram though.

That's raised a query I have on another thread.

I'm not too comfortable fitting a cooler to the cpu - I've never tried it and am not sure I want to.

Do OcUK do a bundle including mobo, cpu, ram and cooler already set-up? I bought my current bundle from another place and it was a doddle to install. I'm not sure I'll use OcUK if the cooler isn't part of the package.

I would be very surprised if OcUK (or any reputable retailer) shipped a system with a large air cooler attached. The risk of the cooler coming loose in transit and causing damage would be too big a risk. Even AIO water coolers would be a risky thing to pre fit and ship. You could give them a ring or ask in the customer services section for clarification though.
