If I wanted to setup a RADIUS server on my wireless network for winxp laptops to authenticate against, do I need an AP that's RADIUS aware, or can I just use a separate box as the radius server and have the AP completely oblivious to it? Currenlty my AP only supports WEP and WPA.....

The AP needs to be able to do radius authentication. Basically a wireless device tries to connect to the wireless network, the AP confirms the details of *** device with the radius server, if it's confirmed it sets up an encrypted connection with the device and allows it to connect to the wireless network.
