Okay, so currently I have a GA-M61PME-S2P mobo. I've just purchased an AMD Phenom II X4 3.4GHz 965 CPU. The site says it supports the CPU, however I've read that these forward compatible mobo's don't let the CPU perform to it's full capacity. Can anybody with any experience on the matter let me know if this is true. I don't want to get this thing fitted only to discover it runs bad and than have to replace the mobo a few weeks down the line. If it's going to affect it that much I'd rather get a new board first.
For what it's worth I'm currently using an Athlon II x2 2.9GHz.
