simple question probably complicated answer?

Processor Phenom ii 965
memory GSkill F3 12800 CL7 2 GBRH ( 2*2gb)

Ok according to the label on the memory it is supposed to run at 1600 7 7 7 24 but it doesn't. This I understand is because its only likely to work at those timings with an i7 setup.

It runs fine at 1600 9 9 9 24

So the question is which is faster
1600 9 9 9 24 or 1333 7 7 7 24 ?

or is something between the two worth experimenting with. I am loathed to mest to much as each failure needs a full bios clean and reset.

Very new to this game, don't know the rules yet and haven't read the instructions
