Simple Question Regarding AMD.

Hi people.

Now, I do plan on waiting for Haswell before I build my new PC. But, for arguments sake, is it worth going for the AMD Phenom II X4/6 BE instead, since this would (in theory) bring the overall cost of the system down, or give me more money to play with in other departments with the same budget.

What are you going to be using it for?

Office programs, audio/video software, some light/frequent gaming, just general home use really.

Just need more power than I have on my current Athlon II X2.

Yeah it's worth getting a Phenom II x4 from what you currently have before Haswell.
Just upgrade your Athlon II x2.

yeah look on fleebay you might get a good deal ore even on OCUK as well

There's been some very nice price on II X4's. Around 50-60, from OCUK also, with the 955 deal.

Although that's all I'd really want to spend if I was waiting for Haswell, simply an interim CPU.
