Hi

Just putting together a new system. Can't decide which will give the best performance:

4GB of Corsair DDR2 XMS2-6400C4 TwinX (4x1GB) (£130ish)

or

2GB of Crucial Ballistix DDR2 PC2-8500C5 1066MHz (£130ish)

in the following system (still to be built):

Intel E6750
Gigabyte GA_P35C_DS3R Mobo
BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC 320MB
Vista Home Premium 64bit

Thanks a lot. Any advice appreciated.

Are you intending to overclock?

If not, then the Corsair is fine.

If you are, then you should have a good look at buying two kits of the PC5300 Crucial Ballistix. It will out-clock the Corsair, and will do the same speeds and timings as the PC8500 Ballistix.

And x64 Vista loves 4gb of memory.
