Simple question?

depends what your graphics card is. the Q6600 @3.2 is still a resonable processor (equivilant to the phenom II X4 955BE @stock i believe).

so, if you have a completely poo graphics card, you'd be better off upgrading the graphics card. if your graphics card is really good, then the processor upgrade would give a good increase in gaming performance

I have a Sapphire 5850 extreme @ 900/1200. Would i see a big difference with the 2500k?

What do you currently have? What do you need? Budget? Main use of PC? When are you planning on buying?

Q6600 @ 3.2Ghz
Asrock P45XE
Crucial Ballistix Tracer 4 GB
Sapphire 5850 xtreme
Corsair HX620

I use my pc for surfing the net and playing games.

I was just wondering if i got a 2500k bundle @ 4.6 would i see a big difference?

If not i will save myself £400.

Just gone with what you guys said. I have also ordered another case as mine is not very good cable management wise.

You haven't even got them yet!

I have one and ordered the other about ten minutes ago.

I have read the reviews on these cards and they spank other cards over twice the price in crossfire.

You can overclock them with Trixx to 900/1200 with ease.

I will tell you how i get on............But i know for £200 no cards will beat them ;)

I'm not knocking it, I have Crossfired cards myself.

It just amused me that you've become a Crossfire fanatic in the space of about 1½ hours.

That is not the case. If you read my thread i asked what is the best way to go with what i have?

People advised me to get another 5850 and an SSD.

I have read the reviews on the Sapphire 5850 Xtreme and they blow all comers away for the price. They destroy other cards twice the price in xfire.

Yes i have become a fan ;)

I did indeed read the thread.

I even contributed to it by showing you how you could get another 5850 and a Sandybridge upgrade for the same money you were planning on spending originally.

Anyhow, enjoy your new parts when they arrive.

Thanks for your advice. I will probably get a Sandybridge set up later on in the year.

I can carry my SSD and 5850's over to it so it is not money wasted now.

Thanks to everyone for their advice. Much appreciated :)
