First i got an error where by a box appears saying the computer must shut down and a counter counts from 60 it says its lsass.exe,

the other question is how do you make windows preview default for viewing images, as it stands i have a photo editor which of course takes longer to load!

thanks

Is your Windows installation SP1? That vulnerability was removed in SP1 regarding lsass.exe. Sounds like Sasser worm.

You'd wanna default the images under "Folder options" > "File types" back to "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer" I believe.

whoops wrong spelling. My mistake sorry.

Found this for you, may help.

The Sasser worm is the most recent, and one of the most virulent, viruses to impact Windows-based systems. Unlike previous outbreaks, Sasser doesn't even need you to use email or, for that matter, even be at your machine to infect your computer and continue spreading. It exploits a recently patched vulnerability in something called LSASS.EXE.

Yep, it's a nasty one and an example of sophisticated virus attempts yet to come. Even if you're not infected, this is an opportunity to review and implement the steps to keep your computer safe.
