Hi,

Anybody got a recommendation for a simple router for my FTTP connection, doesn't need to do anything too fancy, don't need wireless etc, does need to be able to carry out port forwarding from static IPv4/6 addresses.

This looked kinda interesting

but is probably overkill :)

I use Plume Homepass for my WIFI which I'm more than happy with, other than the 'routing' side of the software is abysmal

Cheers

Firewall Purple out of budget? Most of the cheaper options from the usual suspects all seem to have wifi built in or stupid antennas.

Nice enough router, but very expensive just to push gig FTTP with simple IPv6 prefix delegation and DNAT at home. No personal experience here, but what about the TP-Link Omada ER605 (TL-R605)? Gigabit WAN with linespeed packet processing whether DHCP, PPPoE or PPTP; supports USB for 4G failover; and will do gigabit IPSEC/SSL VPN on-device if needed (crap for any other VPN though)... Can be had for under £50 and will do what the OP requires no bother, with a decent webUI and the option for central management. It's also possible to then add in Omada WiFi APs later (which, again, are fairly well received).

Thanks for the input, Firewall Purple looks interesting but a bit spendy, ER605 looks like just the ticket.
I only know one person who uses Firewalla, but the way they EoL’d support previous kit didn't sit well with me and despite him regularly telling me how great it is with its phone app, he does seem to have more issues than seem reasonable.
