Hey guys,

I'm getting seriously fed up with the bulk of my 6680, and as i hardly use any of the features i'm thinking of getting something a little simpler. Basically all i want is:

bluetooth
camera & mms capabilitys
a web browser would be nice, but not essential
small!

As i'm mid way through a contract i'm going to have to buy it myself so something resonably cheap would be good.

Any recomendations?

Cheers
Sam

you could always consider the samsung d600?

its quite small as it slides, good features, good camera, easy to use... and they've been out for a few months now so *** imagine you could pick one up quite cheap off ebay or something?

- plus the bit i love is it comes with a cable you can plug into your scart input socket on a tele to look at all your pics on the phone lol :p

Possibly something like the 6230i? It;s a Nokia so it's easy to use, has all the features you want and I'm sure if you sold you 6680 you'd have enough change left over for a bag of chips!!!

I'd say 6230i too, has everything and is simple, d5/600 is ok, bit small and fiddly, althought that might be good depending on how small u want to go :D

i think you'd find the k750i from the best smaller phone going. it is a very competent phone and can be had for £120 ... sell the n70 and keep the same contract on ... then when it's finished upgrade to summat else ..

the n70 is very slow compared to the k750i too.

Nokia 6111?

do NOT get this phone, i had one and got rid of it in less than a week, its buggy, and very very poorly built, feels like it will break at any moment!

id suggest the 6230i, solid, simple and cheap

you think so?
i have both a 6111 and a 6680 like the OP and i've had no problems.
my only gripe with the 6111 is that compared to my previous phone, the Sammy D500, it feels less "solid".

might have just been my handset then, as i got it before the normal retail units were on sale, it was very poorly built though, and the firmware did have quite a few bugs

6230i gets my vote if you don't use the functions of the 6680.

I upgraded my 6230i to a 6680, and size took a while to get used too but i like the features of the 6680. still the 6230i is handy to have still

Mate of mine bought a 6111 against my advice. It's horrible! Feels so cheap and plastic-y, couple that with the random crashes, rubbish camera and just about everything else wrong with it: bad phone!
i totally agree that the plastic's used on the Nokia do indeed feel of an inferior quality to those of the sammy.
i haven't had any of the random crashes you mention and RE the camera it's only 1 megapixel, but i had my D500 for a year and only took 23 pix so the cam was a low priority for me unlike the FM radio which was one of the main reasons for choosing the 6111.

Got a 6230i on payg. Nice phone only annoying bit is if you use voicetags for dialing it switches yer tones to ascending even if you have it set as ringing. This is a longterm bug that them at nokia cant seem to be bothered fixing. Even trying to say its a feature of the phone. (It does ascending if you select volume 5 but starts at volume 4)

I'd agree with this. As a long term Nokia user, I recently switched to a K750i, and was very pleasantly surprised at how easy the user interface is to use. It literally took me all of half an hour to get to grips with it and be texting like a pro. The build quality could be considered a bit suspect (some creaks) but it has a great camera, bluetooth and great quality screen going for it. It's also pleasantly small!

cheers for all the suggestions guys, i'm actually pretty tempted by the razor, can pick it up for £100 on o2 payg (so should be alright with my o2 contract sim) or the l6 for £70....

might pop into a highstreet store this afternoon and poke some of the phones a bit, tends to help over seeing them online only :)

V3 = horrible phone imo, upgraded to the K750 and never looked back - the SE is superior in every way. Also don't be fooled the the "thin" aspect of the V£ - it's actually no smaller than the 750 when it's folded up.

bad fone.
looks pretty, it definitely looks different from the pack but the menu's may as well have been designed by a dyslexic four year old and it's generally worse than any of the competition to use.
welcome to the world of Motorola.
