Hi all. This might seem a bit of a stupid question but here goes.

I plan to get an SSD. I currently run a samsung F3 with my genuine copy of Windows 7 Prof (retail version). Will I have issues reinstalling windows on my new ssd interms of activation?

I would say I wouldnt have a problem, but I thought I'd ask......!

99% chance you will have zero issue with activation.

0.99% chance you will have to talk to a robot on the phone.

0.01% chance you have to talk to a real person on the phone.

In short, you will be fine.

You're legally in the clear, so don't worry about it. The most you'll need to do is phone the automated activation service which takes 2 minutes. Just press # to stop her blabbering (not too many times though, somehow that gets you directly to a real person without even having to hold!)

as the others said, you will be fine, i recently upgraded my comp, i did'nt bother formating or re-installing.

All i did was change over all the stuff, S775 to I7, boot up, no issues, windows sorted all the configs no probs, after a few reboots it asked to re-activate, so i clicked do it online, it failed.

So rang the free activation line, entered the code the automated lady gave me, and hey presto job done.

So thats the worst that will happen, u will either have to listen to the robot lady, or get through to a human (rare though lol). So don't worry to much.
