simplemachines forums (SMF)

Has anybody had any experience of these forums, i'm currently sorting my webspace out finally (after nearly a year lol) and in fantastico, i can have SMF forum (simplemachines) or phBB2. I am inclined to believe phBB2 will run smoother and be more adaptable than the other though being more well known.
Opinions please

so we're going with SMF are alright then?
i'm not expecting any traffic lol, i'm just designing my site to show my photography, i spent a couple of hours setting up phpnuke which intergrates phpBB but an older version, i tried pdating it and it went ghey on me, so i'mjust gonna design my own front page instead
