Been asked about finding out a password for a Hotmail account. Family members checking up on a rogue sibling scenario.

I suggested a key logger, but really have no idea what to recommend. As even with a web search could end up installing a trojan in disguise.

Some of the more legit looking trails have a short usage limits like 30 minutes. So prefer a proper trail that lasts a few days as don't know how often the computer is used.

For usage there isn't any separate Windows log-in. Just the normal boots straight to desktop.

One thing you could do is try is changing the option on the hotmail site to remember username and password so when you go to hotmail.com it logs right into that account. Bit of a waiting game and no one else can use the hotmail until then.

Not overly honest mind you, sure there are better parenting tactics

You can get key loggers from download.com.

Your anti virus will alert you to the fact that it's a key logger so just ignore it.

Doh. Didn't even consider download.com would have them. Always thought of them as being shady and thus more hidden away.

Acessing someone elses hotmail account without permission is illegal you know and there are much easier ways to stop whatever it is happening, like blocking hotmail. It's hilarious to hear some of the lengths people will go to to spy on someone using hotmail.
