Sims 3/Origin/New expansion Question

Hey guys!

My girlfriend currently has all the sims 3 games and expansions etc installed on her laptop. these were all brought on dvd.

however she wants to buy supernatural on origin as its £22.50 on GMG using a code.

so i was wondering if she would have to transfer all the current games on to origin or anything? because as it is, when she buys a expansion or stuff pack, the latest disc is used as the game disc to run the game.

or will origin just pick up that the games are installed on the system and add them to her game list?

Just want to make sure before buying the new one as a download

thanks for the link but it doesnt really answer whether or not the game will work through origin as the base game is installed elsewhere.

You activate the base game on Origin using the key.

Oh right thats what i was hoping so it wont need reinstalling and all that and then same with all the addons i suppose, ill give it a go ta
