I have been looking at this game for a week now, and it looks really good. I was a massive fan of the sims 1 (Played it on the original Xbox) but i never played 2. Is this game worth it? Is it fun? Wheres the cheapest i can grab it?

Cheers

Neither me nor two of my friends liked it. Course I never liked any of the sims games. One of those friends though loved sims 1 and 2.

It's fun. Better than the previous 2 I think. The only problem is that it's a bit lacking in items, it could do with a wider variety of things to buy.

Yeah I agree with this, the latter is probably so they can then add them in expansion packs for more of your money

It's sort of enjoyable. Just happens to be one of the buggiest, poor performing games I have ever come across. It's quite enjoyable if you are amongst those who don't have any issues. Your spec PC will either struggle like mad, or run it smoothly and I am not kidding lol.

The lack of items is quite true. There is sod all out there and the 'Sims Store', which requires you to buy points with real cash in order to purchase items, has sod all on it and is rarely updated.

It looks and feels too much like the Sims 2. I personally wasn't impressed.

If it ain't broke...

You need to get stuck into it a bit more to enjoy the refinements. The whole being part of an actual community thing is infinitely better, travelling around town and shopping etc...

Personally, I love it... just don't tell your mates you're playing it :P

Never played Sims 1 or 2, so this is my first go at playing a Sims game and I'm having a lot of fun. I find the graphics are very good considering they are probably dumbed down so the millions of people that want the game can actually play it.

Only issue I find is unless you have a day off from work in the Sims then you can't really do much other than wander around your house as by the time they get home from work they need food and some fun (normally playing games on the computer if you have one) then it's bed time. Then you get up, shower, go to lav, eat breakfast and you have a couple of hours before it's work again and you can't get much done in those couple of hours due to the games speed.

Is there a demo? And will my rig run it max? (In sig)
Your PC is as good as mine and I can run everything at maximum, although I only have a 1360x768 resolution. Also, as far as I know, there isn't a demo.

One of my favourite game series, Sims 3 is the best by far.

I was disappointed at first, thinking that the changes between 2 and 3 seemed to be almost negligable, but after getting to grips with the new possibilities I don't see myself going back to the previous installments.

And to answer your question; Yes, I'd certainly recommend it, but only because I'm a big fuzzy wuss and like to keep two hankies in my handbag.

Its ok, its better than the previous 2, but I found it got boring quite quickly. The problem is that I set myself personal goals (like get my Sim to the top of the career ladder) ,and once I've completed that, I lose all interest.I enjoy building houses, and especially extending them once you've got enough money ( I find cheating makes the game boring), but looking after the actual Sim is quite tedious.

I lose interest after I have had my first girl on girl experience in the Sims....wait, what?
