Why are they so big? I must admit, apart from having a play on one of the first games few years back, i have never looked into the games. They look very very boring.

What is point to these games? Does anyone really enjoy playing them?

Final Fantasy games i have never played either. I some how seem to miss the big ramps these games get.

Am i missing out:eek:

Dude, why would you not want to wake up, go to work, come home, load up sims, make them get up, send them to work, rince and repeat?

But truthfully, I am unsure, my housemate started playing it and it turned him into a girl, and the infection spread to 2 others who were hanging with him... I ended up going out to sit in a field out of boredom of watching them...

I can see it has some good aspects, I did use to enjoy the house design element but still...

Jcb33.

Beats me, there wasn't even a goal in Sims 2 iirc. Quite liked the house and sim designer (peggy sims had some awesome skins) but the gameplay I found tedious beyond belief. Think it's popular with the female of the species which might explain the mind boggling sales??

Ok glad im not only one who thinks...."why?" lol

Im just watching Gameplay of new Sims 3 on Youtube, and im bored after 2 minutes. Mind boggling!

One hell of a cash cow to develop about a dozen addon packs at £20 each when all the free user made content you could wish for is on the net if you look around a bit. Took a bit of doing iirc to get custom content into the actual game though which might discourage a few.
Wonder what has earned more revenue, the Sims or WoW??

I don't see the appeal of the games, and don't ever see me sitting down and playing it.

However, I do enjoy watching my partner play it.

I enjoy them.
I own every single Sims and expansion pack :(

Good fun to play, great fun at times. Making people, ruining their lives, making little stories up for them. Making houses.

A lot of the male population don't quite grasp the idea behind the Sims.

Love how it appeals to noobs Zytok :)

I don't get it either.

I borrowed Sims 2 back in the day but it ended up being uninstalled a few days later.
However, my GF just bought Sims 3 and she's hooked.

no offence intended but why oh why do you just not go onto the various Sims affiliated websites and download every costume, hair style and piece of furniture in existence for free rather than paying EA £20 for various bits of Ikea furniture or H&M clothing??
