Sims3 performance...

Does anyone NOT get lag when they scroll across the map, over houses etc on the Sims 3???

Got a new build:
Intel Quad core 12mb cache 2.87ghz, OCd to 3.77ghz
Radeon 4870 Pre-overclocked
4gb ram @ 1066mhz/5-5-5-15

But i still get that juddery lag when going across the map!!!

sunlitsix, what spec is your PC?

I have all the latest drivers, in fact i didnt use any of the CDs, I went straight to the manufacturers websites to get all the drivers, I even updated the BIOS.
my graphics version is 8.620.0.0 15/5/2009 for the Radeon 4870

It feels like a RAM problem to me, it's like as if it has so many objects etc to load when you scroll that even 4gb can't keep up. Seems a bit...wrong to me but hey ho haha

Is there anything i can do to cure this? any patches? fixes? drivers?

It can't be that, I'm running sims3 as standard and haven't download or uploaded anything from the EA store/downloader.

oh well, as long as the game plays i suppose ahaha
If anyone finds a fix let us know!

if you have lag with those specs then i aint complaining ahaha

it doesnt even say all the ram is being used, says like 70% :S

what version are you running? i really dont get why it's simply that...some people are getting the lag and some aren't :S

If i buy another 4gb of Kingston HyperX memory, so i have 8gb of all the same memory, do you think this will improve the performance?

I recon it's ATI cards myself :S

My GFs bro has a similar spec PC to mine, only with a lower speed processor, but he was a 9800GT, and his doesnt lag :S

I take it theres no point in me buying another 4 gig if yours doesnt lag at 3gb? haha
dont you get any lag when you move across the map?

Yer, i emailed em about it, and they jst directed me to a couple of links about checking you have the right specs, and i know my system should be able to run it haha

It's so annoying.
Just realised it cant be nvidias.
My comp does the same, but even worse lag, and specs are shown in my sig.
