How easy is this to do and what smart bulbs would I need? I was thinking a wakeup lamp would be nice, but I'm sure I've read about being able to do it via Google Home. I can see Routines on my Google Home app under Alarms (I use my phone for an alarm, so that makes sense)... Is it just a case of buying some Phillip's Hue bulbs or something? I have a light in the corner of our bedroom that would be perfect for 'modding' to do this during the winter months.

Thanks!

philips hue, hive nest bulbs, pretty much any smart bulb thats dimmable
Shouldn't they be able to change colour temperature as well to do it 'properly'?

So, next question. What smart bulbs don't need a hub of some sort? Does that exist?

I use a Lifx A60 in the bedroom for this very reason. I've programmed the bulb to change colour and brightness before my alarm goes off
a lot of differing opinions on those, including some people saying they always lose connection. Are they the best non-hub bulbs do you think? :)

Can't you just leave your curtain a bit ajar?
Sunrise was 7.28am this morning according to a quick Google and regardless if that's correct or not it's dark when my alarm goes off. And that's probably late for most people on a working day.

Colour & brightness changing does help a lot.

Mine will switch on with it's minimum brightness and start off a dark red. The colour will change through to orange, yellow, white, than through the white colour temps. Plus the brightness will increase.
Yeah that's how I imagine it works best.

Thanks for the pointers, well I've chucked them on my Amazon list for now.. hopefully someone buying presents for me this Christmas will pay attention to it. Otherwise it'll be the sales..
