Simulated Sine wave UPS with Seasonic 80+ GOLD PSU

I've got a Cyberpower simulated Sine wave ups that I want to use with my PC. I'm using a Seasonic 80+ Gold PSU and want to know if I'm taking a risk using the simulated Sine wave model?

I've read load of posts on other sites but it's swings from you'll be fine to IT WILL KILL EVERYTHING!

Anyone know the science and have a definitive answer?
 
Really more like modified square wave...
Though with inverter providing power only during black outs there shouldn't be problems.
(assuming sizing is proper instead of using volt amperes)

Problem has been in some old UPSes outputting higher voltage putting stress on especially cheaper made active PFC.
(cheaper PFC controllers can lack input waveform monitoring)

It'll certainly reduce efficiency running on modified sine wave, I'd only do it long term if I bought a PSU obviously overbuilt for the system it was running in, or one that I modified myself with a larger primary capacitor and more secondary filtering. Some cheaper active PFC use only a 400v capacitor which is really marginal, and I've seen some purporting to be "550w" that use a tiny 120uf or similar primary cap as well.

ive never heard of such things personally... maybe on cheapy fire hazard psus?
 
PC hardware doesn't mind a bit of dirty power and it will be only using battery power when mains power is not constant or during a powercut.. So its not a issue really.
