SiN episodes cancelled

bugger I really wanted to play that, was waiting for a few episodes to be released before buying a package. I really enjoyed SiN, thought was a top game.

waiting for Sam N Max future episodes as well before mass buying.

I thought it was quite good. Definitely a keeper of a game now I think ;)

edit: for the half naked scene, that is. /geeks out

I didn't even get round to completing Episode One, guess I'm not going to miss much anyway. It's sad to see it go out that way, but I guess it's what we'll be stuck with.

It was nothing ground breaking, but fun nonetheless.

A pity its been canned, would like to have seen how it went to be honest.

Kinda makes sense, the game was nothing special (falling well short of 2004 titles such as Far Cry, Doom3 and Halflife 2) and I don't expect it sold especially well.

I thought the first episode was good fun. Sure it was pretty much just running around killing things but it did it so well.

Ohno!
My Jessica Cannon fantasies are ruined, I’ll forever be stuck replaying episode one and watching her get infected and being unable to save her again and again and again… my life is ruined.

Ah damnit.

Really wanted to play the rest too. Sometimes the old run and gun games are best. None of the hiding crap, just pure shooting.

I found the game incredibly annoying.

For one thing there seemed to be only a few enemy types, and the enemy placement was repetetive.

Other than that, the auto skill-balance was poorly done. I'm pretty good at FPS (clan gaming in HL2, been playing FPS online since Quake1 etc), and with the auto skill balance I was put in an impossible situation - I was constantly on zero ammo, even if I made sure every shot I fired went into an enemy. They would just respawn and respawn until I was dead - clearly available ammo is not taken into account as a constraint.

Most annoying, and not something I've come across with other games that have dynamic difficulty levels. Can't say I'm too sad to see it go.

I fully agree with Duff-man's comments above. I would also like to add that only having 3 or 4 guns was damn annoying! There were also some horrific scripting errors where the NPC's wouldn't go and open a door to trigger an event.

I did get bored with it and couldn't bring myself to complete the episode. Saying that one of my favourite levels of all time is the bank (demo) level in the original SiN :)

If they made a second episode they could fix what people didn't like about the first one. That's the whole point of episodes really. Shame there won't be a second.
