Pretty much as the title really. Took the PC down to the parents over xmas and decided to format it as it was getting a bit slow, however i'm now having trouble connecting wirelessly. Pre format it worked great with very little problem, however now I only seem to be able to connect for about 10-15 secinds before it disconnects and then tries looking for a connection about 30 seconds later.

The PC is running XP Pro SP2 and I've installed the drivers for the usb wireless dongle, the router is a WRT54G. I know its a problem with that PC/Windows config as I bought a shiney new Vista Laptop over xmas and that works perfectly on the wireless network, any suggestions would be champion.

Cheers.

Drivers, have a look around and see if you can find either the latest of some older drivers to try. Also make sure that things like WEP/WPA are all set correctly at the XP end.

I've used the same driver disk that came with the usb stick as they worked fine pre format although I was suprised XP wouldn't pick it up automatically. WEP is all o.k. However I think I may have found the cause of this problem. It only seems to keep disconnecting me when I load up MSN Live Messenger! Its happened 3 times now so I think thats too many to be a coincidence but I have no idea why MSN would kill my wireless!
