Hi,

I'm looking for help

everything, however.

all my windows apps, chrome mail etc take an absolute age to open
games work fine just apps in windows.
I even upgraded to windows 11 just in case it was a thread issue

any help is appreciated

Did you do a clean install or are you running the same Windows install from before the upgrade?

Anything in event viewer?

Since those apps use the Internet, I would guess it might be a network or wireless driver or config issue.

started with w10, then upgraded to11. ended up doing a fresh install

Why would windows 10 be the answer when Alder Lake is essentially designed around 11.

This ^

Windows 11 is basically Windows 10 with a new skin and some added features.

Win11 was basically designed with 12 gen almost exclusively.

Have you tried a BIOS updated? Try a different hard drive. If it's still an issue, RMA the motherboard and CPU.

I'm assuming the "started on 10" was probably from his previous install and that is why it was so broken.

This. A fresh install of any OS would have fixed the issue.
