Any chance of refitting the stock cooler and giving the return a try though? Would be a shame to have to accept something that sings at you.

If not then look into the coil whine fix.

i can refit the stock cooler, that aint a problem!.
Just done googling and the 6950 does like to sing a lot!.
I will give ocuk a ring 2morrow and see where is stand with it.

My HD4890 used to sing at times to my OCZ SXS 600W but it was too infrequent to be a big issue and it generally only did it at idle. My HD6950/Aurum 700W combination does not sing, thank goodness, or it'd be going back to OcUK.

Enabling VSync might help if it's only happening with very high framerates.

it help drop the noise down a little bit.
going to ring ocuk soon and see what they say.
