Single 4gb vs Dual 2gb

One 4gb stick vs two 2gb dual channel sticks.

So which would be the best bet here? With the same brand, timings, voltage etc...

Well in theory the 2x2GB if running in dual-channel would offer 100% extra memory bandwidth . . . if any of the software you ran was sensitive to memory bandwidth then Dual-Channel obviously would be the way to go!

single channel doesn't have any advantages over dual, but dual does have bandwith advantages over single, so dual.

Only a thought but is it possible having one single stick will give less stress to the memory controller, allowing a better overclock? I could be wrong

^^ Yes, usually It is like that, people prefer less sticks with more GB as they can be OC'd more
