Single Bay Reservoirs keep putting bubbles in my loop

Hi guys

I have a DD single bay res in my loop, straight after my 18w laing ddc. The bubbles are spinning around really fast in the res and every so often (couple times a minute) a bubble or two escapes down the res and into the loop. Its really annoying cuz it makes a loud noise when it does this (WC builders can appreciate this). Is there any solution to this problem? The res it full to the brim, you can't get more in there?

I have also tried propping up the front of the case using various items, I still get the problem.

Is this a known issue with single bay res's?

my res is before my pump and i used to have a Repack (1/4 size 5.25" Bay Res) and that didnt put bubbles in my loop either. as long as its above/inline and before the pump it should be fine.

Bubbles. The main reason I avoid Bayres. Just hassle imo :p

Have heard the sponge trick to be the best solution though.

I like my bubbles... just proves to me the loop is still working :p

Gotta get some sponge myself as i heard that works, but wont the sponge degrade and clog my loop up after some time?

The DD bayres only use a single divider but the newer XSPC bayres uses 3 different sections which really helps in keeping the bubbles out of your loop.

Fill the res up to the brim, replace the top but leave it loosened off for a while. Aslong as water isn't splashing out of the hole it'll be ok. Once the bubbles have settled down you can then screw it down completely. The trick is to ensure there is no room for air in your res.

Cheers w3bbo this has fixed my bubble problem..........(I managed to fit about another half cup of water in my single XSPC bay res)

As a previous owner to a DD Single Bayres, I concur. The trick is to get as little air left in the bay res as possible, even going as far as to tip the rig so that all the air in the BayRes is floating towards the air hole while you fill those last few drops.

I had the same problem with a single bay res, the outlet is too close to the surface of the water. I solved the problem by going to a dual bay res.
