Single best upgrade for BF3?

like the title says would i be better off with a new gpu or a processor for BF3? i dont play at high resolution if that helps, system spec is in my signature.

Is it the 955BE CPU you have? Have you considered an overclock? Even if you up the multiplier by 1 on the 955 it becomes a 965.

That 5770 was a budget card last gen. We don't even know what resolution you are playing at. I would think a GPU upgrade would make sense but I'd wait till nearer the games release date.

resolution 1360x 768 but it will probably be 1280x1080 when i play in HD atm i use it mostly for wow and starcraft so i dont bother putting a hdmi in.

as for the processor it is the 640 of this one with 3ghz.

i was thinking about buying a cpu cooler and an extra fan so i can overclock the cpu and gpu, if i cant find a good upgrade without having to upgrade both.

i would have thought going for a big GPU (+PSU?) would give you the best upgrade. however, having seen the benchies its a lot closer than i would have thought

the i5 2500k + motherboard + cooler upgrade would be about £300 if you have some DDR3 RAM you can salvage from somewhere. the 570 + PSU would cost a touch less.

i'll wait till the game comes out anyway if i'm not happy with the performance i'll order a 6870 or a gtx 560 then ty for the help.

2500k CPU and a mobo will cost more than a graphics card. The only reason I would even consider it is if you had an old dual core.

A new graphics card will give you a massive boost in frames whilst being the cheaper option.

to be honest i bought a 6850 at christmas on my e4400 which is pretty old now and the graphics look superb when i was playing BO. Upgrading this week for BF3 however..

Definitely replace your GPU for something like a GTX570 in my opinion.
