Single Cable From PSU

Just wondering if you guys think I would be able to run 240W through a single cable from the PSU

Scenario is 2 graphics cards each pulling 120w so a single cable with two connectors one connector into each card?

A single 8 pin PCI-E cable is rated to 150w iirc, obviously its possible to draw more than that pretty easily, it'd work but personally i wouldnt recommend it

The PCI Express slot of the motherboard can provide up to 75 watts to the graphics card. 6-pin power connector can provide up to 75 watts. 8-pin power connector can provide up to150 watts.

If it's a good thick, well-made cable and the PSU side can supply e.g. the full 300W on that connection, it should be fine. The same (actually better/safer as you should have 2 x 75W from the PCIe available versus 1 x 75W) as powering a 300W card using a single PSU cable with 2 x 8-pin.

If it didn't work/was unsafe, they shouldn't make cables with two connectors.

So if the PCI-e can supply the full 75W, you then only have 90W (2 x 45W) through the cable. Or some combination of that, but it adds up fine I think?

Cheers but its not for my 3090, obviously got 2 cables going into that bad boy. Its for 2 low power cards pulling only 120W each
