Hi I currently have in my rig 2 X gigabyte R9 280x in crossfire. I'm more than happy with the frames they give (I play in 1440p) but I'm not happy with the glitches crossfire brings. I've been thinking of upgrading to a single card solution. Would there be anything out there to match or beat the performance in a single card without having to take out a mortgage?
The rest of the rig is I7 4770k@ 4.8, 16gb team elite ram, gigabyte z87x-Ali mobo, seasonic evo 850w psu.

TIA

I suppose around £200 plus whatever I could get by selling the 2 280x's?

Well, the only way you'll beat two 280Xs in a game where crossfire is supported, will be with something like a Fury X or GTX980Ti (generally speaking).

With your budget, something around a R9 390 / 390X / GTX970 should be affordable. On the down side, all will deliver lower maximum fps (at least some of the time), but most importantly, you'll have smoother minimum / average frames.
