Single card that would match my twins?

got twin GTX 670 4GB's tempted to look into a single card replacement, Ideally would like to match my current performance which is very decent as I game on a 144hz 1080p monitor

I would like to keep nvidia if possible and keep the price as low as possible

I'm sure a single card now would beat one of them out of the water but the two together provide very good fps in games that use SLI well

You'd be looking at a clocked 980 I would imagine.

The benchmarks here show A single 980 is about double the performance of a single 670...
So a single 980 is going be far better then a SLI 670 setup..

I upgraded from 2x 670 2Gb to a single 970.

A 970 will be the cheaper option and is adequate especially at this resolution. If you have the money and want higher frames considering you have a 144Hz monitor then the 980.

If you have the funds I would go for the 980. However, the 970 is also good for your resolution and refresh rate.

Can't afford a 980 as much as I'd like too, I was also considering the 780ti given it has a wider memory bus and 3GB vram seems plenty for me at 1080p. 2nd hand on the MM would be a nice little upgrade ?
