Hello ocuk!

I've fallen completely out of touch with the hardware scene since i built the pc in my sig (pretty much on release of the 2500k) and I'm contemplating switching out my SLI 460s for asingle better card.

My requirements are pretty basic: a single 24" monitor at 1080 resolution and I dont do anything more taxing than gaming (that said i like my games to look the best they can but am pretty fussy about smooth gameplay - i hate being under 30fps at any time!).

Essentially whats the cut off point for a single card to be better than my current setup?

I dont really have a fixed budget (my budget really is as much as i manage to sell in my upcoming clearout) but guessing around 200-250. Second hand would be my preferred choice (using the MM) so I'm looking out for bargains!

I too had 2x GTX 460 1GB SLi and swapped them out with a single GTX 660. The GTX 660 actually manages to keep up with them and in DX 11 title move a bit ahead.
With that said to "feel" the upgrade you defintely need a least a Radeon HD 7950 Boost or GeForce GTX 670 - lesser won't feel like an upgrade.

Ah slightly higher range than I was expecting, will keep an eye out on the MM for the above then as new they're out of my price range atm.

Thanks for the advice, trying to catch up on a year's worth of tech news/progression is harder than it sounds!
